Vinyl Flooring Tiles

Today more and more people are opting to install vinyl flooring tiles in bathrooms and kitchens.  Not only are they a lot cheaper to purchase than say slate or ceramic floor tiles but they are extremely durable as well.  Plus when it comes to finding the right kind of vinyl floor tiles to match a particular rooms décor because they are available in such a wide variety of patterns, shades and colors this shouldn’t prove a problem.
In fact the real problem you may have is deciding which of the thousands of designs there are is best suited to the room in which they will be laid.  So to help you with offer some tips below that will help you to make sure that after choosing the vinyl flooring tiles for your home that you lay them properly.

Tip 1 – The first to do before you even start laying your vinyl flooring tiles is to make sure that the surface on which they are to be laid is even.  If you don’t then any bumps or dips in the floors surface will show up and make the flooring look horrible.  So before you start installing the flooring you need to fill any depressions in the sub surface and sand down any bumps or remove any screws or nails where the heads are raised.    Then after doing this make sure that the surface is swept and cleaned with a damp mop to remove any dust or debris from it.

Tip 2 – When it comes to the adhesive for making sure that the vinyl floor tiles stick to the sub surface properly you should use the best one possible.  If you choose to use a cheap type of adhesive there is more chance of bubbles appearing in the tiles or they begin to peel away from the surface below at the edges.    Plus if you are not careful the wrong kind of adhesive can result in a chemical reaction that causes the colors in the tiles to begin to bleed or fade.  If you are unsure what kind to use then ask the staff at your local DIY or hardware store or read some information regarding this online.

Tip 3 – When it comes to using the adhesive make sure that you follow the instructions provided with it to the letter.  This is crucial as it will help to ensure that the floor will remain adhered to the surface below for many years to come.
